Center Stage Productions

Summer Workshops 2024

Center Stage Productions is incredibly excited to announce the dates for our annual Summer Workshops with an exciting announcement about a revived and reinvigorated addition to our summer programming. We will be announcing show choices for our Introduction to Theater and Showcase Workshop as well as for the rest of our season within the coming weeks!

This summer we are allowing students entering 5th grade to have the option to participate in either our Introduction to Theater Workshop or Showcase Workshop. We want to provide as much opportunity as possible for young performers to participate at their unique level of experience. If you have any questions about where your young performer may fit best, please feel free contact us at dimarinn@neumann.edu or 610-558-5626.

Additionally, we are revamping and reintroducing our third workshop offering for young adult performers in high school and beyond in the form of a Cabaret Workshop!

CSP Cabaret Workshop

July 17th-August 2nd

Instructors: Patrick Murray and Krista Thomas

Center Stage Productions is introducing its first ever Cabaret Workshop! This workshop is for performers looking to take the next step as an artist and to improve their skills as an auditioner. We want to help develop your artistry through encouraging you to take risks that will take your storytelling skillset to the next level and thereby build your comfortability performing in an audition room. This Cabaret Workshop will run weekdays starting Wednesday July 17th thru August 2nd from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. and will end in a culminating Cabaret Showcase of the pieces workshopped and coached throughout the class on August 2nd at 7 P.M.

We will be tackling important audition and performance tools including:

Book-Building

Resume-Crafting

Choosing Effective Audition Cuts

Storytelling Through Song

Slating and Video Auditions

Instructors Patrick Murray and Krista Thomas will be selecting and individually assigning material to each performer in the workshop. You will leave the course with at least three new pieces for your book that will span three popular audition genres: Contemporary, Golden Age, and Pop/Rock.

Two mock auditions at both the beginning and end of the course will track your growth throughout the workshop and give you the opportunity to flex the skills you have learned. Additionally, we will have Free-Sing Fridays, during which you can bring in material that you would like to workshop with us in the room.

This workshop will bridge the gap between the personal and the artistic, allowing you to embrace a perspective that is uniquely yours that will make you stand out from the crowd at any audition. We are excited to see you this summer, and we can’t wait to make music with you all!
